Seven protestors including the event's organizer were arrested during a Black Lives Matter march through Atlantic City streets, which the city's mayor called "selfish and clownish" after futile attempts to postpone it. UPDATED: A man climbed to the top of the 17-story Skyscraper tower ride at Casino Pier to protest what he called unfair charges brought against him by local police, according to several news reports. After he reached the top of the popular ride in Seaside Heights, he raised an American flag. He will come down after he secured an attorney to help with the charges, the man told News12 New Jersey. A string of racist insults on Facebook against a young Asian-American protester has cost a volunteer of nearly 45 years his ranking positions with the Leonia Fire Department. : Police Outnumber Protesters Who Planned To Close Route 80
A protest march aimed at closing Route 80 in Hackensack on Friday was redirected to Route 46 in Teterboro instead. It got stopped there, as well, so the marchers headed back to the city. New Jersey State Police troopers and local police outnumbered the protesters at least three to one.
