Several football players from the Garden State are hoping to hear their names called in downtown Detroit at the 2024 NFL Draft and reach their dreams of playing pro football. Rutgers cornerback and Mays Landing native Max Melton is looking to be the highest-drafted Scarlet Knight since defensive end Kemoko Turay was selected by the Indianapolis Colts with the 52nd overall pick in 2018. Absurd Items, Fewer Plastic Bags Found On NJ Beaches By Volunteers In 2023
Volunteers cleaning New Jersey's beaches in 2023 found hundreds of thousands of pieces of debris, from typical garbage to some very strange items. The environmental nonprofit group Clean Ocean Action (COA) released its 2023 Annual Beach Sweeps Report on Thursday, Apr. 4. The report shows data about the litter found on the Garden State's beaches by COA's 3,664 volunteers. COA noted that there were about 60 percent fewer volunteers during the 2023 sweeps due to bad weather. UPDATE: A philosophy professor from Hasbrouck Heights who authorities said planned to burn down St. Patricks' Cathedral was found unfit to stand trial, Manhattan's district attorney announced Tuesday. Two days after a devastating fire at Notre Dame in Paris, a Hasbrouck Heights man was caught trying to enter St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan with four gallons of gasoline, two cans of lighter fluid and lighters Wednesday night, the NYPD said. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 13, at Old Tappan's St. Pius X RC Church at 10 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tim was born in Queens, NY and was raised in Old Tappan.
