: Fire Ravages Elmwood Park Multi-Family Home
An Elmwood Park multi-family home went up in flames Saturday night. Responders were met by flames and heavy smoke at the Fournier Crescent home just after 8:30 p.m. Hoarding conditions contributed to the extent of the two-alarm fire, which quickly spread to the attic, they said. One firefighter was injured, though not seriously, responders said. Two cats may have been lost. Fire raced through a vacant Fair Lawn home late Wednesday afternoon. The blaze broke out in the rear of the 1½-story Oak Street house around 4:45 p.m. and quickly spread, responders said. Wayne Police Officer Braves Flames, Dog Dies In House Fire
Flames and smoke kept a Wayne police officer from rescuing a dog who died in a house fire, authorities said. Township police, firefighters and First Aid Squad members responded to what began as a garage fire on Sycamore Terrace around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, Detective Capt. Christian Wittig said. A resident told Corporal Robert Feeney that her dog was inside, Wittig said. Feeney went in trying to rescue the dog but had to retreat after several attempts due to the fire and smoke, the captain said. Firefighter Hospitalized Battling Waldwick Blaze
A firefighter was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries while battling a Waldwick blaze Tuesday afternoon. The three-alarm Franklin Turnpike fire broke out at approximately 1:30 p.m. It was under control in less than an hour. Mutual aid was requested from several neighboring departments. Boyd A. Ridgefield Park Firefighters Douse Overnight House Blaze
RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. -- After aiding with fires in two neighboring towns, Ridgefield Park firefighters got one of their own just after midnight Tuesday. Teaneck House Fire Doused
TEANECK, N.J. -- Investigators were trying to determine the cause of a Monday morning house fire in Teaneck. The 10:30 a.m. blaze at 87 Teaneck Rd. was under control within a half-hour, responders said. There were no injuries, they said. A Hackensack FAST team responded but was released soon after.
