Garfield High School Sheltered In Place Amid Series Of North Jersey Lockdowns
While the vo-techs in Bergen, Passaic & Morris went into lockdown, Garfield High School students and staff were sheltered in place Friday morning after police were tipped off to what was described as "a threatening post on social media." An incident that a law enforcement official is calling a "screenshot of an indirect threat" at Passaic County Technical Institute in Wayne was deemed not credible. A morning lockdown that resulted of a shooting threat at Morris County School of Technology ended around 10:10 Friday, school officials said. A "thorough" investigation and search of the campus that began as buses were arriving determined the threat was not directed at the school, the email said. Police: Parsippany Student Injured Trying To Climb Out Window During Lockdown
A Parsippany Hills High School cut himself while trying to climb out a first floor window during a Friday morning lockdown, authorities said. The student was treated for the minor injury by EMTs and during the lockdown, which had ended as of 9:55 a.m., Parsippany police said. Three Good Samaritans who saved a 24-year-old unconscious driver in Morris County say they were in the right place at the right time. : These North Jersey Schools Scored Among Top 50 In State
New Jersey released its grades for public schools, ranking each one on a scale of 0 to 100. Nineteen schools in Bergen, Morris and Passaic counties scored among the top 50 in the state. Critics say the ratings are "oversimplified" and state officials say the grades aren't a fair representation of all that a school has to offer.
