Wanted Unlicensed DWI Driver Carrying Crack, Smack, X Flees Route 208 Stop: Fair Lawn PD
An unlicensed driver with multiple outstanding warrants was carrying a variety of drugs and under the influence when he sped off from a Route 208 traffic stop, Fair Lawn police said.
Basher Bajes, 38, of the Burlington County town of Palmyra, was initially stopped by Officer Matthew Hearon at the eastbound Morlot Avenue exit from northbound Route 208 shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday, Oct 19, Sgt. Eric Eleshewich said.
Hearon had gotten out of his vehicle when Bajes hit the gas on his PC Cruiser and headed west on Morlot, then back onto the northbound highway, the sergeant said.

Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power after a round of powerful afternoon storms swept through the region.
The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for much of the region through 11 p.m., and that comes after a round of quarter-sized hail and gusty winds.

South Jersey Engineer, 25, Killed In Wrong-Way Massachusetts Crash
A 25-year-old engineer from Mercer County was killed this week by a wrong-way driver in Massachusetts, where she lived and worked, police said.
Geetika Guruprasad, of West Windsor, died just after 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in Littleton, a suburb of Boston.
Guruprasad was driving her Mazda CX-5 on Route 2 when an SUV traveling on the wrong side of the road collided with her, Massachusetts State Police said. Paramedics rushed her to Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts, where doctors pronounced her dead.

Amazon Facility, Schools Close Due To Water Pressure Problems Plaguing NJ Communities
Low water pressure or complete lack of water is plaguing communities in Mercer County, local officials say.
Aqua New Jersey customers in Chesterfield, Hamilton, Hamilton Square, Robbinsville, and Windsor could experience the issues through Sunday, June 4, the company said.
The issues began on Thursday, June 1, after a pump malfunction in one of the wells, Aqua NJ said in a statement.
