Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train In Bergen County (

NJ Transit service to Suffern, NY was suspended due to a fatal pedestrian strike Monday morning, Dec. 16 in Bergen County, rail officials said. Train No. 56 on the Port Jervis Line struck and killed the pedestrian east of the Ramsey station around 9:15 a.m., NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. The train, which departed Port Jervis at 7:39 a.m., was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 9:52 a.m. There were no injuries reported to the approximately 10 customers and crew on board. Port Jervis/Main/Bergen County Lines are suspended in both directions between Suffern and Waldwick.…

Man's Body Found Hanging From Passaic Bridge
A man's body was found hanging early Tuesday morning from an NJ Transit bridge near the Passaic train station. The body was found around 6:30 a.m. on the Passaic Avenue bridge about a hundred yards from the station, NJ Transit's Nathan Rudy said. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, which was investigating, didn't immediately say whether homicide or suicide was suspected. A Medical Examiner was to determine cause of death. Glen Rock Train Station Tree Topples
Somewhere in a row of SUVs parked at the train station in Glen Rock was one covered by a fallen tree Monday morning. High winds with extreme gusts downed trees and snapped branches in various areas of North Jersey overnight. Workers were out removing debris and sawing fallen trees for disposal.
