Englewood Novelist Barbara Wersba Dies, 85 Author Barbara Wersba died on Feb. 18 at the Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood. She was 85 years old. Wersba has written more than two dozen novels for both children and teens/young adults. She also reviewed children's literature for the New York Times, written play and television scripts and taught writing.  Born in Chicago on August 19, 1932, Wersba later moved with her family to California.
