The body of a 37-year-old North Arlington man, who had been missing for nearly a week, was recovered from the Passaic River on Tuesday, Dec. 10, authorities said.

Patty Alarcon Cinardo Of North Arlington Dies, 39
Patricia "Patty" Alarcon Cinardo died on Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to her obituary on the Nazare Memorial website. She was 39 years old.
Born in Ecuador, Patty came to the United States at 9 years old with her family and lived in Brooklyn, then Kearny and Harrison, her obituary says. She most recently lived in North Arlington, having married her husband, Nicholas, in 2023. Patty's Facebook page shows she studied math at Hunter College.

Gunman, 22, Arrested In Shooting Of Kearny Man In Paterson, Police Say
Police have arrested the 22-year-old gunman who they say is responsible for a June shooting in Paterson.
Rafael A. Cabrera Perea, of Paterson, is believed to have shot the 26-year-old man near Prospect and Ellison streets around 2:40 a.m. on June 17, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi said.
While on scene, officers were notified that the victim, a Kearny resident, had been taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. An investigation identified Cabrera Perea as the gunman, Valdes said.

Kearny Man, 44, Stabbed Passenger In His Vehicle In Clifton, Police Say
A 44-year-old Kearny man is facing charges for stabbing a 31-year-old Paterson victim in Clifton, police said.
Daniel Carbajal-Flores was operating a 2018 Honda when he stabbed the victim, a passenger in the vehicle, at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Russell Street just after 1 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, Clifton Police Lt. Robert Anderson said.
The victim was assisted to safety away from the vehicle by another passenger in Carbajal-Flores' car, and taken to St. Joseph's hospital in a separate vehicle, Anderson said.

Leslie Graf, a lifelong New Jersey resident and longtime first responder, died on Tuesday, March 5 at the age of 77, according to her obituary.
Born in Kearny in 1947, Graf lived in Nutley before moving to Wayne, her obituary reads. She met her husband Bill while attending Wayne Valley High School and they raised their three daughters in Bloomingdale, according to her obituary.
