UPDATED: A 9-year-old girl died in a crash Tuesday morning in Toms River, The Lakewood Scoop reports. Leah Gross died when the minivan she was riding in veered off the roadway and struck a tree head-on at North Bay and Whitty Road at 9:16 a.m., the outlet said. She was taken by Hatzolah to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where she was pronounced dead, according to Matzav.com. Dozens Of Boys From Rockland, Brooklyn Hospitalized With Food Poisoning After Ukraine Trip
More than two dozen boys were reportedly taken to hospitals in Rockland County, the Catskills and Brooklyn after they apparently suffered food poisoning while returning from a trip to Ukraine. The boys, all in their upper teens, were nauseous, vomiting and feverish, among other reactions, after landing at an unidentified New York City airport, responders said. Blaze Engulfs Iconic Kosher Market, Mahwah Firefighters Assist Rockland Colleagues
Firefighters from Mahwah assisted their Rockland colleagues at the scene of a raging blaze that destroyed an iconic kosher supermarket on Thursday. Motty’s Supermarket on North Main Street in Monsey burst into flames as a Ramapo police officer who saw smoke approached shortly after 12:30 p.m., authorities said. Passaic's Jewish Community Mourns Beloved St. Mary's Pediatrician Elliot Samet
Elliot Samet, a beloved physician at St. Mary's General Hospital, died of coronavirus Tuesday. Samet, remembered as a "leading pediatrician" in Passaic's Jewish community, practiced medicine for 38 years and served as a primary neonatologist at St. Mary's. He was also a founding member of Passaic's Hatzolah, volunteer emergency medical service organization serving Jewish communities around the world.
