Man Stabbed At Bergen County Italian Restaurant, Suspect Apprehended Nearby: Prosecutor

A man was stabbed at a Bergen County Italian restaurant and his suspect was apprehended nearby on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 21, police said.

The incident happened at Cafe L'Amore on Ramapo Valley Road around 3 p.m., when Oakland police received a 9-1-1 call reporting a stabbing, according to a spokesperson from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Responding officers found an adult male who had been stabbed. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended nearby shortly after by Oakland police, authorities said.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Oakland Police Department are investigating the incident, according to Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Deputy Chief of Detectives Jeff Angermeyer.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be released when available.
