The crash happened early Monday afternoon, Nov. 11, 2024, leaving the driver with non-life-threatening facial injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing the classic car back up at high speed, ultimately colliding with the home and damaging its front porch.
Wet tire tread marks and cleaning supplies found across the street suggest the driver had washed the vehicle just before the crash.
Hawthorne Fire Department crews worked to stabilize the damaged porch before allowing a tow truck operator to carefully remove the Corvette. The driver was taken by Hawthorne EMS to a nearby hospital for evaluation, and Hawthorne Police responded to investigate the scene.
