That’s because Nevon Kipperman, whose family owns the joint, is turning them into her canvas.
“I always had an art background,” said Kipperman, 22 of Tenafly. “I just like to draw in my lattes when I get the opportunity to.”
She can make almost anything, too.
She’s written messages like “Thank you,” and “Enjoy,” and recently incorporated food coloring to a detailed stencil of a tree.
On the Fourth of July, she made a portrait of George Washington… that’s right, in a latte.
“I use chocolate syrup,” she explained. “It’s like dipping a toothpick as a stick to draw in the white foam.”
The cafe, which recently expanded to Westwood, is serving up fall dishes to go with Kipperman's art, including butternut squash soup, s’mores hot chocolate, pumpkin spiced lattes and more.
Farmhouse Cafe & Eatery is located at 25 E. Madison Ave., Cresskill. and at 301 Center Ave., Westwood.
