Two people have been charged with child neglect after leaving two toddlers in a vehicle for 20 minutes while they went into a winery for a tasting session, police said.

UPDATE: Three Newark men have been charged by New Jersey State Police with shooting and killing a fellow Brick City resident and leaving his body alongside Route 80.
Two of them – William Dixon, 24, and Nishir Rios-Figueroa, 30 – were already in custody in connection with other crimes, State Police said on Tuesday. They captured the third, Mustafa Manns, 28, in Newark.

Two adults are in custody after authorities in Warren County seized $8,000 in heroin from their car, officials say.
Investigators executing a search warrant on a gray Acura ILX found 25 "bricks" of heroin, which police say is worth about $8,000 on the streets. The car belonged to Vashone Paul, 29, of Paterson, but was being used by Bianca Degregorio, of Elmwood Park, the Prosecutor's Office said.

Four suspects were charged after a month-long investigation led to the discovery of meth, cocaine, and other drugs in Warren County, authorities said.
Shawn Hopper, 50, and Aysha Aguilu, 32, were charged with second-degree possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, distributing methamphetamine, and other drug offenses, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a Monday release with local officials.

A 45-year-old man pleaded guilty to the yearslong sexual assault of a six-year-old girl at his Phillipsburg home on Tuesday, Oct. 4, authorities announced.
Lawrence E. Kolmer, of Summit Avenue in Phillipsburg, pleaded guilty to sexual assault and child endangerment, both second-degree offenses, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a joint release.
Kolmer sexually abused the victim, a child whom he knew, numerous times between 2018 and 2021, starting when she was six years old until the age of eight, Pfeiffer said.

A 63-year-old man from Warren County is facing numerous charges after investigators caught him meeting up for sex with an undercover cop he thought was a 14-year-old girl, authorities said.
Paul Tedeschi, of Lee Avenue in Alpha, was charged with second-degree attempted luring, second-degree sexual assault, attempted child endangerment, and promoting prostitution, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a release on Friday, Sept. 2.

Impaired Driver Fled Warren County Crash Scene With Infant In Car, Prosecutor Says
An impaired driver was charged after fleeing the scene of a Warren County crash with an infant in the car, authorities said.
Nicole Victoria, of Montclair, was involved in a crash on Water Street in Independence Township shortly before 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a release.
Victoria, 39, then drove away and was found in a driveway about half a mile north of the crash scene, Pfeiffer said.
A follow-up investigation found that Victoria was impaired and had been driving with an infant in the car, authorities said.

Barry F. Miller, 48, was in Phillipsburg when he performed “multiple acts of sexual penetration, specifically oral, and anal penetration,” as well as other sexual contact on a child, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a Tuesday release.
The abuse, which occurred between 1995 and 1998, began when the child was under 13 and continued into their teenage years, Pfeiffer said.

Feds: Weapons Arsenal, White Supremacist Material Seized From Sussex County Man In Van Crash
A Sussex County man who was once stabbed in a biker bar brawl was found with an assortment of illegal weapons and ammo, along with white supremacist and racially-charged propaganda, after he crashed his van, federal authorities said.
NJ State Police said they spotted some of the arsenal in a white Chevy Express van driven by Joseph Rubino, 57, of Lafayette Township, after it crashed into a tree off Route 80 in Allamuchy on July 24.
A medical chopper took Rubino and his passenger, 55-year-old Kenneth Coe of Bayonne, to Morristown Medical Center, the NJSP said at the time.
