SAD Update: Body Of NJ Man, 92, Who Went Into Hudson River Near GWB Found Near Brooklyn Bridge The body of a 92-year-old Edgewater man who left his walker, wallet and other belongings at the end of a Hudson River pier was recovered from the East River near the Brooklyn Bridge, authorities said. No foul play was suspected in the death of Patrick O’Kane, Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin said. A New York Waterway captain summoned them after finding O’Kane’s things – including a jacket, gloves, a hat and keys -- at the Edgewater Marina on River Road just south of the George Washington Bridge on April 13, the chief said. Man, 92, Presumed Drowned After Leaving Walker, Wallet, Keys, Clothes On Hudson River Pier A 92-year-old Edgewater man was presumed drowned after a ferry captain found his walker, wallet and other belongings on a Hudson River pier just south of the George Washington Bridge. Edgewater Pays $3 Million In Settlement With Woman Who Fell From Yacht, Report Says The borough of Edgewater is paying $3 million of a settlement with a woman who suffered a brain injury in a fall from a yacht, a published report says. Jennifer Brashears, 48, was exiting a 50-foot yacht that had been lifted from the water by a hoist at the Edgewater Marina  in July 2014 when she fell 10 feet from a platform, hitting her head, according to court papers. Brashears suffered a bleed in her brain and needed surgery that included removing a third of her skull to prevent fatal swelling and another operation to address an infection, the New Jersey Law Journal reported.
