A 19-year-old DUI driver from New Jersey was 10 times over the legal limit and driving at 85 mph when he crashed into an Uber carrying four of his peers from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut last month, officials said. Tyler Delk of South Orange, has been charged with assault with a motor vehicle, DUI, reckless driving, and other offenses on Tuesday, Oct. 24 by Fairfield Police for the Friday, Sept. 29 crash on Jefferson Street. Newark Men Sold Guns To Undercover Informants: Feds
Two men from Newark were federally charged with dealing unlicensed firearms, trafficking them across state lines, federal prosecutors announced on Tuesday, Oct. 3. From July to September of this year, Carlo De Jesus, a 26-year-old Newark resident sold four firearms, including two rifles and a semi-automatic handgun to undercover law enforcement, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said. A salmonella outbreak that sickened nine people in New Jersey has been traced to ShopRite stores, officials said.
