Municipal Employee Headed To Tree Lighting Hospitalized After Serious Pal Park Crash A Palisades Park employee headed to the borough Christmas tree lighting narrowly avoided a much worse fate when a driver ran a stop sign and knocked his SUV into a telephone pole, splitting it in two. The employee was towing a light tower to the event at Borough Hall when the female motorist ran the stop sign and rammed the truck on Central Boulevard around 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, witnesses said. Survivors Of Palisades Park Stabbing That Killed 2 Friends Warn Students About Sudden Violence “I don’t want to die,” a mortally wounded Tommy Johnston told his friend Yang Chung after they and two other Palisades Park High School football players were stabbed on Broad Avenue the night before Labor Day 1992. Johnston, 17, had just been stabbed twice in the chest during a fight with two boys from Ridgefield Park. He died at the hospital. Their friend, Philip Raymondo, 16, died on the steps of police headquarters. He’d been stabbed in the heart.
