CLIFFSIDE PARK, N.J. — Former Cliffside Park resident Carmela Carlucci (Scocco) died Sunday, May 15. She was 79.
Carlucci is survived by her daughter, Mary Carlucci; sons, Raymond Carlucci and his wife Deirdre, Michael Carlucci and his wife Jeanene and Stephen Carlucci and his wife Viviane.
She also is survived by her sisters, Eleanor Raisch and Egidia Guarinello and Guarinello's husband Louis, grandchildren Raymond, Christina, Kathleen, Michael, Stephen Jr., Sarah, Sean, Nicholas, and Sophia; and many nieces and nephews.

PARAMUS, N.J. — Paramus resident Charles O'Toole died Monday, May 16. He was 80.
Before retiring, O'Toole worked for the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus.

MAMARONECK, N.Y. — Mamaroneck resident Gaetana "Nellie" Fraioli (Tedeschi) died on Saturday, May 14. She was 86.
She was born in Roccasecca, Italy on April 7, 1930, to Bernardo and Carmela Tedeschi.

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. — Hawthorne resident Jean M. Macilvane died on Sunday, May 15. She was 79.
She was born on Oct.1, 1936, to Thomas and Lillian Hannon in the Bronx.
Macilvane was a retired teachers aide with Hawthorne Cedar Knolls School in Hawthorne.
She is survived by a son, Mark Macilvane; her grandchildren, Nicole, Jennifer, Kristen and Riley; her brother, Thomas "Skip" and his wife Patricia Hannon.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lester W. Macilvane, and a son, Scott Macilvane.

Florence Helmke, 88, Nanuet Resident
NANUET, N.Y. — Nanuet resident Florence Helmke died on Sunday, May 15. She was 88.
She was born on May 12, 1928, to Robert and Emma Blumenberg.
She was a longtime employee of Lederle Laboratories.
Helmke was actively involved in the Pearl River Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Helmke is survived by her children Kevin and his wife, Joann, Karen and her husband, William, Joseph, and Janice, as well as nine grandchildren, 13 great-grand children, and four great-great grandchildren.
Helmke was predeceased by her son, Charles, and a grandson.

SUFFERN, N.Y. — Suffern resident John F. “Sean” Devery, Sr. died on Sunday, May 15. He was 88. He was born on Oct. 17, 1927, to John and Margaret Devery in Shannonbridge, County Offaly, Ireland.
For many years he was a salesman for Rheingold Breweries.
He was a past president of the Rockland County Ancient Order of Hibernians, and a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Devery is survived by his children Ann and her husband, Edward Hotchkin, Geralyn and her husband, Peter Booth, and Jack and his wife, Roberta Devery; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

TEANECK, N.J. — Teaneck resident George C. Miller died Sunday, May 15. He was 75.
Before retiring, Miller was an art director for Best Foods and an art illustrator for the U.S. Air Force in the early 1960s.
During his earlier years, he was a member of the Hawthorne Caballeros.
During his later years, he was an art educator for community schools and senior centers, including the towns of Ridgewood, Bergenfield, Emerson and Tenafly.

She was the beloved wife of the late Lino Bertinato (2002).

Thomas Lanza, 102, Rutherford Resident
RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Rutherford resident Thomas Lanza died on Sunday, May 15. He was 102.
He was born in 1913 in New York City to Joseph and Barbara Lanza.
Lanza was employed with MetLife as an insurance agent in Rutherford for 30 years before retiring in 1990.
His wife of 60 years, Jean (Zybura), died in 2000.
Lanza is survived by his son, Guy and his wife, Kathy, daughter, Carol Pforte and her husband, Fred, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law Joyce Lanza.
