Authorities: Clifton Man Kills Self With Paterson Officer's Gun In Totowa TOTOWA, N.J.– A Clifton man shot and killed himself with an off-duty Paterson police officer's weapon in an apparent suicide at a Fourth of July party at the officer's Totowa home, authorities confirmed. Xavier Cuevas-Soto, 22, grabbed the gun after the officer removed it and turned it on himself, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. Detectives from Valdes's office responded along with Totowa and Paterson police and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
