Robert Ortiz, 51, was being held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal sexual contact following an investigation by members of the county prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and Edgewater police.
“A witness to the incident told her mother, who then contacted the Edgewater Police Department,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
During a subsequent interview with his investigators and local detectives, the boy “disclosed in specific details what had occurred between him and [Ortiz],” the prosecutor said.
Ortiz, who is single, is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.
