Vincent Ascolese, 48, used blood draining ("exsanguination") to kill the injured fawn, a method of euthanasia that isn't approved in the state, while he was the director and supervising animal control officer at the North Jersey Humane Society Shelter in Bloomfield, authorities allege.
Charges include "needlessly killing a living animal" and "failure to provide necessary care," they said.
Ascolese, also is the director of the Bergen County Protection and Rescue Shelter in Cliffside Park. also didn't provide proper shelter, food and necessary care to other animals at the Humane Society, they said.
