Born in North Bergen and raised in Union City, she was a graduate of Emerson High School in Union City.
Montone was a member of the Ridgefield Seniors. An avid movie fan, she also enjoyed decorating, drawing and shopping.
Before retiring, she was an administrative assistant with Scholastic magazine in Englewood Cliffs for 15 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Montone.
She is survived by two sons, John Montone and wife Mary and Tommy Montone and wife Tina; and three grandchildren, Michael, Jacqueline and Joseph Montone.
A graveside service was held Friday, Oct. 2, at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, would be appreciated.
