Major Mall-Based Chain With Moorestown Store Closing 543 Locations After Filing For Bankruptcy
A major retailer primarily located in malls and headquartered in Pennsylvania is set to close all 543 of its stores following its third Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Closures for all rue21 locations are expected to be completed within the next two months with going-out-of-business sales coming soon. The company, headquartered in Pennsylvania outside Pittsburgh, had first filed for bankruptcy in 2003, and then for a second time in 2017, when it closed around 400 stores. Hero Dad Scares Off Would-Be Carjacker With Handgun In Philly Suburbs: Police
Police were able to arrest a carjacker shortly after a Berks County dad stopped him from stealing his car while his son was inside. The dad was in a parked car with his son in the 1200 block of Penn Avenue in Wyomissing on Dec. 3, when the unarmed suspect opened the car door and told the man to get out twice, local police said. The man refused and pulled a legally owned handgun from the glove box, Wyomissing police said. Suspects Nabbed In Bergen Among Dozens Charged In Statewide ATM Thefts
Eleven suspects seized in Cliffside Park following a brief pursuit were among dozens arrested statewide Tuesday for exploiting a glitch that allowed them to steal tens of thousands of dollars from ATM machines at banks throughout New Jersey and in New York City. Borough police arrested two suspects at the Santander Bank on Anderson Avenue before chasing down the rest on foot, Deputy Police Chief Vincent Capano said.
