More than 8,000 New Jersey residents were without power amid another round of storms on Sunday, June 22. PSE&G's outage map shows 5,341 were in the dark in Burlington County and more than 3,000 in Camden. The majority of the outages were in Maple Shade, Moorestown, Haddon and Pennsauken. In Union County, nearly 1,000 had lost power in Westfield. Smaller but more widespread outages were reported on the Jersey Shore, according to JCP&L, specifically in Long Branch, Red Bank, Asbury Park, Hazlet, Middletown, Keansburg, and Matawan. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania to close out Memorial Day. Thousands Without Power In NJ Following Tropical Storm Ophelia
Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power Sunday, Sept. 24, after Tropical Storm Ophelia. Nearly 13,000 residents were without power Saturday, Sept. 23, but as of Sunday morning, that number was down to approximately 4,000. Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power on Tuesday due to a fast-moving storm Monday night. The majority of the outages were reported by JCP&L in Monmouth County. As of 10:30 a.m., 8,197 people were in the dark, the company said. Most of those customers were in Atlantic Highlands (1,143), Manalapan (553) and Marlboro (1,507). There were 770 JCP&L customers in Middlesex County were without power while 333 PSE&G customers were also without power in the same area.
