'An Absolute Character': Entertaining South Jersey Horse Racing Announcer Dies, 67 A longtime South Jersey racetrack announcer known for his playful, entertaining flair died after a 13-year battle with brain cancer, officials said. Larry Lederman died at 67 years old on Tuesday, Mar. 5, the U.S. Trotting Association (USTA) announced in a news release. The East Windsor resident was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in 2011. The native New Yorker was introduced to harness racing by his father, a Manhattan business owner who enjoyed going to the Yonkers and Roosevelt raceways. Murphy Allows Reopening Of NJ Child Care Centers, Non-Contact Sports, Day Camps Summer in New Jersey is starting to take shape. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy on Friday announced he will be signing an executive order allowing child care services, organized sports practices and youth day camps to resume over the next several weeks.
