Motorcyclist, 41, Killed In High-Speed Central Jersey Crash, Police Say A 41-year-old motorcyclist from Essex County was killed in a crash in Central Jersey, authorities said. Carlos Caraballo lost control of his motorcycle at about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 on Route 1 northbound, Edison police said. The rider skidded and ended up under another vehicle near Parsonage Road, they said. Caraballo, of Bloomfield, was pronounced dead shortly after the crash, police said. Possible Electrocution Involving Police Officer Reported In Edison: Developing An electrocution was reported in Edison late Thursday afternoon, according to a developing and unconfirmed report. The report said a police officer was operating a traffic light control box when the accident occurred. A call to Edison police was not immediately returned. Area firefighters and EMS crews were responded, reports said. The incident occurred at Route 27 and Vineyard Road, according to initial reports. US Marshals Arrest Jersey Shore Fugitive, 31, In Mercer County Fatal Shooting A 31-year-old fugitive from Middlesex County has been arrested in connection with fatally shooting a man from Mercer County in the head during a robbery, authorities said. George A. Briscoe of Edison was arrested Wednesday in Edison by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force and police from Hamilton and Edison, authorities said. Briscoe was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged murder, by shooting a man in the head in a parked car last month, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri. …
