Wildfire At Former Golf Course Destroys 65 Acres In South Jersey A wildfire at a former South Jersey golf course in fully contained after destroying 65 acres, aiuhorities said. At 11 p.m. Thursday, May 18, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service achieved 100 percent containment of the fire at the former Holly Hills Golf Course in Salem County. The golf course is now managed as part of the Thundergut Pond Wildlife Management Area in Alloway. For a short time Thursday, 15 structures were threatened by the fire.
