Jake Schreck, of Allentown (Monmouth County) was killed when he was apparently struck by 47-year-old Ketan Kabaria, of Yardley, PA, around 5:50 p.m. on Friday, March 31 near Route 539 (Old York Road) and Montgomery Way in Robbinsville, police said.
Schreck was brought to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Robbinsville police said.
Kabaria was charged Monday, April 3, with death by auto and driving while intoxicated, police said. He also was charged with careless driving, reckless driving and failure to keep right. Kabaria, who was driving a Toyota Camry, was not hurt, police said.
Schreck's obituary said he was born in Linden and worked for Painters Union Local #694 DC #21. He was also a member of the Kaos Kings Motorcycle Club of New Jersey.
"Jake loved life and his favorite pastime was riding his bike with the wind in his hair and being free…he said there was no better feeling," his obit says. "Jake would brighten any room with his infectious smile and contagious laugh, had a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed it. He was a friend to all and never judged anyone. His motto was 'Live to Love, Love to Live.'"
