The 7:44 a.m. crash closed Madison Avenue near Charles Street, Detective Sgt. Kevin Van Saders said.
Hackensack University Medical Center paramedics pronounced Jose Tumaneng dead at the scene, he said. New Milford firefighters cut him from the vehicle, the sergeant said.
The 525i first crashed into two others at Boulevard before continuing on Madison, where it struck a pole, a tree and some fencing before rolling into the second pole, he said.
One of the other drivers reported minor injuries and was taken to Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, Van Saders said.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Fatal Accident Investigations Unit was investigating along with borough police, the county sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification and the county Medical Examiner's Office.
The street was expected to remain closed for several hours.
