Tappan Man Hit With DWI Charge After Slamming Car Into Utility Pole ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police charged a 30-year-old Tappan resident with DWI on Monday, following a car crash in Blauvelt, police said. An officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident around 11:49 p.m. on Clausland Mountain Road, and observed that a car had driven off the roadway and struck a utility pole, according to police. Rockland Man Charged With DWI In Pearl River ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police arrested a 24-year-old resident of New City on a DWI charge, police said. The arrest came about when police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Main Street in Pearl River on Wednesday, around 1:23 a.m., according to police. Former Woodlands Assistant Principal Sentenced For Stealing From Fund A 69-year-old Rockland resident and former assistant principal in Westchester was sentenced to one to three years in state prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to grand larceny in the second degree, a class C felony, on Aug. 20, according to Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. Danbury Gang Member Gets 30 Years In Prison For Murder Of Driver On I-84 DANBURY, Conn. -- A 38-year-old Danbury man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in federal prison for shooting and killing a Newtown man who was driving to work on I-84 in Danbury in January 2000, prosecutors said.
