Detectives charge Bergenfield man with sexually assaulting boy, 14

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 43-year-old Bergenfield man charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy was being held on $250,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said members of his Special Victims Unit arrested Dennis Calonia at Bergenfield police headquarters on Saturday.

They charged him with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated criminal contact and child endangerment, the prosecutor said.

The state Division of Child Protection and Permanency notified Bergenfield police and the county SVU, leading to the arrest, he said.

A July 22 Municipal Court arraignment was scheduled.
