Dumont Crossings Closed After Train Hits Downed Tree

A freight train struck a downed tree before midnight Wednesday in Dumont, closing two area crossings.

No injuries were reported after the CSX train stopped at the Columbia Avenue crossing. The train's snow plow was bent so badly that a torch was needed to remove it, witnesses said.

The train remained stopped past 2 a.m.
