South Jersey Man Committed 'Smash-And-Grab' Burglaries Along Jersey Shore: Police
An Ocean County man was accused of several "smash-and-grab" burglaries along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Todd Lansing, 46, of Brick Township, was charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools. The Brielle Police Department announced his charges in a news release on Thursday, Mar. 28. Mysterious Tar Balls Found On NJ Beaches Prompts Coast Guard Investigation
The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the arrival of mysterious tar balls on beaches from Sea Bright south to Asbury Park. Areas affected include Gateway National Park at Sandy Hook and the shoreline at Sea Bright, Monmouth Beach, Long Branch, Deal, Allenhurst and Asbury Park. New Jersey was smacked with heavy rains Friday morning, Sept. 29, with more than four inches having fallen by noon in parts of the state. The National Weather Service released a report of exactly how many inches fell across some parts of the state in the afternoon hours as responders worked to rescue trapped vehicles.
