'Flash Mob' Theft Ring Hits Maryland: Four Charged in $800K Crime Spree: AG
Four men have been indicted in connection with an organized retail crime ring responsible for 37 thefts across six Maryland counties, causing approximately $800,000 in losses, authorities announced Monday.
The suspects are accused of overwhelming stores with “flash mob” tactics, targeting high-end retail items, and reselling stolen goods.
Attorney General Anthony Brown revealed details about the operation, which spanned Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Queen Anne’s, and Prince George’s counties.

Driver Killed In Wrong-Way, Head-On I-695 Crash In Baltimore County, State Police Say
One person was killed by an allegedly intoxicated driver on I-695 in a wrong-way crash in Baltimore County on Thursday morning, state police say.
Hyattsville resident John Quame De Love, 64, has been identified by investigators as the person killed in a crash involving Liluram Paudel, 34, who was reportedly driving east in the westbound lanes of the interstate.
The crash was reported at around 2:40 a.m. on Aug. 1 near Stevenson Road.

A pair of winning Powerball tickets worth $1 million and $50,000 were sold in the same county in Maryland.
The million dollar second-tier prizewinning ticket was sold at Green Meadows Exxon at 6762 Riggs Road in Hyattsville, while a third-tier $50,000 Double Play ticket was sold at 7-Eleven at 9500 Ruby Lockhart Blvd. in Bowie — both in Prince George’s County, lottery officials said.

Stranger Accused Of Murdering Maryland Teen Arrested, Motive Still Unknown, Police Say
A Hyattsville man has been arrested after brutally stabbing and killing a Maryland teenager, authorities say.
Rasheed Anwar, 65, is accused of fatally stabbing Therry Buhdeng, 19, on Wednesday, Nov. 16 around 11:45 a.m., in the 4600 block of Baltimore Avenue, according to Prince George’s County police.
Police discovered Buhdeng suffering from a stab wound and rushed him to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, Dec. 1.
Detectives were able to identify Anwar as the suspect, and say that it does not appear that Anwar and Buhdeng knew each other at the time of the murder. …
Police ID Maryland Man Gunned Down, Shooter At Large
Police are offering a $25,000 reward in hopes of identifying the suspect involved in the fatal shooting of a Hyattsville man, authorities announce.
Jose Arroyo Salazar, 28, was found suffering from gunshot wounds outside in the 1500 block of Madison Street, around 10 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, according to Prince George's County police.
Salazar was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.
