A driver was killed in a crash on I-495 early Friday morning after their vehicle collided with a parked tractor-trailer, Maryland State Police said. Troopers from the Forestville Barrack responded to the crash at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Dec. 6, near the Anacostia Freeway. Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a Jeep Compass struck the rear trailer of a tractor-trailer parked on the left shoulder of the highway. Some lanes on I-495 were temporarily shut down on Friday afternoon when a tractor-trailer caught fire in Montgomery County. Moped Rider Killed Crashing Into Tractor-Trailer On I-495 In Maryland
Traffic was tied up for miles on I-495 in Prince George's County on Friday afternoon when a moped rider was killed after crashing into a tractor-trailer. With travelers hitting the road for the long Labor Day Weekend, traffic came to a half in the southbound lanes of the interstate near MD Route 295 as Maryland State Police investigated the fatal crash. A Good Samaritan was killed by a BMW driver on I-95 in Maryland as he was attempting to assist another truck driver who had broken down, according to state police.
