A tricky early morning blaze that broke out in a home that's been vacant for nearly two decades in Maryland caused extensive damage, according to the Fire Marshal. First responders from the Delmar Volunteer Fire Department and other nearby agencies were called shortly before 2 a.m. on Monday, March 8, to the 900 block of East Estate Street in Wicomico County, when a neighbor reported that there was smoke and flames coming from a nearby home. Massive Maryland Fire Tears Through Home Furnishings Business
Flames tore through a Maryland business overnight, causing thousands of dollars in damage and leaving the structure in shambles, according to the state fire marshal. Members of the Delmar Volunteer Fire Department and other agencies responded to a two-alarm fire at Wells Home Furnishings on Stage Road at approximately 11 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1 when a passerby reported the incident. A Maryland homeowner had to be airlifted to an area hospital after suffering burns when a fire broke out while she was smoking and on oxygen, according to the state’s fire marshal. First responders were dispatched to a Wicomico County home on Windy Hill Circle in Delmar shortly before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, where there was a reported fire that broke out inside a two-story residence.
