A 30-year-old driver died after she lost control of her car and broadsided another vehicle in St. Mary's County, authorities said.
Jennifer Renita VanMeter of Charlotte Hall was killed in the crash, according to Maryland State Police.
On Monday, Jan. 15, at approximately 4:30 p.m., state troopers responded to Route 6 (Charles Street) near Gilbert Run Park in Charlotte Hall for a serious collision.

A convicted felon in Maryland was busted by police in St. Mary's County on Wednesday morning following the investigation into the sale of drugs and marijuana near a Lexington Park school and church, according to the sheriff’s office.
On Wednesday, Oct. 26, Dominick NMN Mackall, 34, of Lexington Park was taken into custody by detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Division, along with members of the Emergency Services Team (EST) and the Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit.

A Frederick County man is facing drug and weapon charges following a routine traffic stop in St. Mary’s County, officials say.
Frederick resident Juwan Matthew Favors, 24, was stopped by members of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in the 29500 block of Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall, for vehicle and traffic violations, according to investigators.
