Five young men were shot with one in critical condition in Greenbelt Friday afternoon, April 19. Officers responding to the scene found 600 high schoolers gathered in Schrom Hills Park around 2:30 p.m., on Hanover Parkway, police said at a press conference. While officers were walking into the park they heard 8 to 10 gunshots, and responded to the area in an active shooter response. According to FOX5, it happened during a "senior skip day" gathering. A 19-year-old was shot dead in Prince George’s County Thursday evening, April 11, police said. Officers responded to the shooting report around 5:30 p.m. and found Tyrone Avent wounded near Neptune Avenue and Audrey Lane in Oxon Hill, according to the PGPD. A man was left with life-threatening injuries following a shooting in Anne Arundel County on Monday evening, March 18, police said.
