An arrest has been made in the 2017 killing of an off-duty Metropolitan DC Police Department officer, thanks to a tipster who came forward last year, authorities announced. Dion Thompson has been arrested for his alleged role in the murder of MPD Sgt. Tony Mason, Jr., on Nov. 4, 2017 in the 2800 block of Elgin Avenue, Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates announced on Wednesday, April 17. Embattled former Baltimore City Assistant State’s Attorney Adam Lane Chaudry will spend time behind bars with some of the people he helped put away for stalking former paramours and their friends, federal authorities announced. Chaudry, 43, was sentenced this week to two years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, after he pleaded guilty late last year to two counts of fraud in connection with obtaining confidential phone records. A convicted sex offender with a history of sexually abusing minors and recording it over the course of more than a decade in Maryland may spend the rest of his life behind bars. Baltimore resident Garnell Eugene Graves, 59, was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release after pleading guilty to four counts of sexual exploitation of a child related to his sexual abuse of multiple minor victims, authorities announced. A previously convicted sex offender in Maryland is facing decades in prison after admitting to recording himself sexually abusing minors over the course of more than 13 years. Baltimore resident Garnell Eugene Graves, 58, pleaded guilty in federal court to four counts of sexual exploitation of a child in relation to the sexual abuse of five minor victims, federal prosecutors announced. A federal grand jury has charged Baltimore's top prosecutor with faking financial hardship on mortgage loan statements for two vacation homes and to make a COVID-related withdrawal from her retirement savings.
