On Thursday, the Montgomery County Department of Police announced that Germantown resident Jose Antonio Garcia, 45, is facing charges following a 2022 crash that took the life of 30-year-old Jose Vidal Urias Beltran and injured several others.

Investigators say that on Oct. 15, 2022, Garcia was driving a blue 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Frederick Road and attempted to turn onto westbound Plummer Drive when he struck a silver Ford F250 that was traveling in the opposite direction.

Beltran, a passenger in the Jeep, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by first responders.

In late December, police say that Garcia was arrested on an arrest warrant charging him with manslaughter, negligent homicide, and other traffic-related offenses.

He is being held without bond in Montgomery County.
