Downed Wires, 2 Crashes Shut Paramus Road (Developing)
Two separate motor vehicle crashes and a live downed electric wire caused major disruptions in Paramus late Monday morning, Jan. 20, police said.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the scene of a two-car crash with minor injuries on Paramus Road, Chief Robert Guidetti said. Simultaneously, a second two-car crash occurred at the same location but did not result in injuries.

Newly released bodycam footage shows the arrest of an intoxicated driver who sent his brand-new pickup truck into the side of a Hackensack McDonald's on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
The footage, released by Transparency Bodycam on Sunday, Jan. 19, Christian Andia, 37, of Teaneck, being pulled from his 2025 Dodge Ram, which was lodged in the side of the River Street establishment.

Ridgewood Parks Employee John Quinn Dies, 34
John Quinn, a father and employee of the Ridgewood Parks Department, died suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 16. He was 34 years old.
John, of Hewitt, worked in the Village's Shade Tree Division since 2021, records show. His obituary on the Vander Plaat Vermeulen website says:
