Three DC police officers were shot in Northeast DC while responding to a burglary in progress on Monday morning, the DC Police Union confirmed. An ex-con from Washington DC has been convicted of shooting a transgender victim following a sexual act, federal authorities announced. Jerry Tyree, who has previous weapon and drug convictions in Maryland and the District, was found guilty by a Superior Court jury of aggravated assault while armed for shooting his victim in November last year in Northeast DC. A wanted man who allegedly shot a father and his 5-year-old daughter earlier this year has been charged, federal authorities announced on Thursday.
