Two teens have been arrested for their alleged roles in the murder of a popular 26-year-old father who was gunned down in Southern Maryland earlier this month. Jo’Mir Omar Norman, 18 and Brian Jermaine Wongus, Jr. 15, both of Cambridge have been arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting of Virgil Simms last weekend in Dorchester County. A man who shot his co-worker at a Maryland gas station before attempting to flee in a work van has been apprehended and charged with attempted murder, state police say. Butcher Shop, Century-Old Home Destroyed By Two-Alarm Blaze: Maryland Fire Marshal
Nearly a million dollars in damage was caused when a butcher shop fire spread to a home of a vacant home that has stood for more than a century in Maryland, officials say. First responders were called shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, to the 5000 block of Stone Boundary Road in Cambridge, where the owner of a butcher shop reported a fire that rapidly spread to nearby structures.
