One person was killed on Friday afternoon after being struck by an Amtrak train in Prince George's County on Friday afternoon, officials concerned. Shortly after 4 p.m. on Dec. 13, first responders were called to the area of Powder Mill Road and Baltimore Avenue in Beltsville, where there was a distress call about a person who required a rescue. Two people riding ATVs on the tracks in Baltimore County suffered critical injuries after being struck by an Amtrak train on Sunday night, police say. At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, first responders from White Marsh were called to Schafer's Lane and CSX Railway 21237 to probe a crash involving an four-wheeler and Amtrak train. Two men who transported thousands of fentanyl pills across the country into Maryland will spend years in prison for bringing the poison into Montgomery County.
