Four Convicted Of Abducting Maryland Man, Soliciting Ransom Payment, Dumping Dead Body In DC
Four men from the region have been found complicit in abducting a Maryland man who was held for ransom and later found dead in Southeast Washington, DC, federal officials announced.
A federal jury announced on Tuesday, Nov. 1 that four men from the DMV area were convicted of murder and other charges in the kidnapping of a man whose body was found in the summer of 2018.
Those charged:
Darin Moore, Jr., 29, of Bowie, Maryland;
Gabrial Brown, 33, of Washington, DC;
John Sweeney, 29, of Washington DC.

Eight people have been charged including a 14-year-old girl and at least one family member in the kidnapping, beating and killing of a 19-year-old man with autism, authorities said.
Hayden Robert Garreffa, of Dilltown, PA, was found dead by state troopers in a wooded area of Brush Valley Township on Saturday, Oct. 22 around 4 a.m., according to a state police briefing on Tuesday, Oct. 25. A minor is in custody following two sexual assaults in Owings Mills earlier this week, authorities say.
The young suspect was apprehended on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 23 after reports of the assaults the previous two nights in the Lakeside Boulevard area of Owings Mills, according to Baltimore County police.
