Actor James Ransone, best known for his role as Ziggy Sobotka on HBO’s "The Wire," has died by suicide, authorities confirmed. He was 46.
Ransone of Baltimore County, Maryland, died in Los Angeles on Friday, Dec. 19, according to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
His cause of death was listed as suicide by hanging, while his place of death was identified as a shed, the medical examiner’s office stated in a report obtained by Daily Voice on Monday, Jan. 19. His body has been released to his family.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland sent a final text message to his family just moments before allegedly taking his own life, according to police dispatch audio obtained by People.
Kneeland, 24, was found dead early Thursday, Nov. 6, hours after leading police on a chase in Frisco, Texas.
