The Metropolitan Police Department is attempting to track down suspects who shot at a Special Police Officer in Southeast DC on Wednesday night. Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on April 3, the suspects and officer, who was working at a business in the area, were involved in an argument in the 400 block of 14th Street SE that escalated. According to police, as the suspects were leaving the establishment, one of them fired a handgun toward the officer before both fled the scene. No injuries were reported. Federal officials announced that a former special police officer from Maryland will avoid prison time after admitting to abusing his power and violating a suspect's civil rights. Oxon Hill resident Brandon Greenfield-Logan, 33, pleaded guilty this week in US District Court to one count of deprivation of rights under the color of law for violating the rights of a handcuffed prison, according to the Department of Justice. Juvenile, Adult Arrested For Shooting At Police Officer In Anne Arundel County: Police
A juvenile and adult suspect have been arrested in connection with a police-involved shooting in Anne Arundel County, authorities said. The teenager, along with 18-year-old Brian Bautista, were approached by a Special Police Officer at an MPD-owned impound lot in Anne Arundel County on Tuesday, May 17, Metropolitan Police said. The SPO questioned the suspects, who then fired shots at the officer, according to MPD. The officer then returned fire. No injuries were reported, MPD said. Bautista and the juvenile were charged accordingly. The investigation is ongoing.
