Person 'Clinging To Rock' In Potomac River Rescued In Montgomery County
Multiple agencies worked together on Wednesday morning to rescue a person who found themselves in a perilous position in the Potomac River.
Early on Aug. 7, US Park Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel teamed up to make a water rescue after a swimmer got stuck.
According to officials, boats, helicopters, and land crews were all involved in the rescue near the C&O Canal Lock 8 and Wades Island.

Kayaker Dies After Getting Pinned By Rock In Potomac River
A woman was killed after overturning her kayak and getting trapped under a rock in the Potomac River, officials confirmed.
On Sunday afternoon, first responders were called when around two dozen out-of-state college kayakers were boating and a woman wound up pinned under a rock in hydraulics.
Passersby and others came to her aid before Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel made it to the scene, and she did not survive.

Body Found At Shoreline Of Potomac River Near Popular Trail
First responders are on the scene near the Old Angler's Inn on the Potomac River after a body was found.
Emergency crews were initially called to the scene for a "medical emergency" around 2 p.m., Monday, April 3, according to a spokesperson from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
Once officials got to the scene, they discovered that the victim in question was dead at the scene.
