Chariot On Fire Causes I-495 Backup After Lanes Were Blocked In Montgomery County
A stretch of Montgomery County highway was blocked this morning after a vehicle caught fire, authorities say.
A Chariots for Hire limo bus went up in flames on I-495 near River Road around 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials.
No passengers were on board the bus at the time of the fire, which was safely extinguished within an hour of help arriving.

Two Men Charged In Two Days On Gun Offenses In Maryland: State Police
Maryland State Police troopers arrested two men on gun charges following a pair of separate traffic stops in Montgomery County this week, officials announced on Friday, Oct. 28.
First, Robel Habtu, 20, of Silver Spring, was stopped at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, by troopers from the Rockville Barrack on Piney Branch Road near Ray Drive for illegally tinted windows.
While conducting that stop, troopers say that they suspected illegal drugs inside Habtu’s vehicle, and a search of his vehicle led to the seizure of a handgun that was reported stolen in South Carolina.

Dozens of Maryland motorists were arrested by state police troopers who handed out nearly 1,000 citations during a special DUI detail over some of the state’s busiest roadways during Labor Day Weekend.
