A District man has admitted to his role in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old woman and a subsequent attack on an inmate while behind bars inside a DC jail, federal authorities announced. Karlos Kinney, 24, pleaded guilty this week in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia to voluntary manslaughter while armed in the April 2020 shooting death of Resha Blount and also to assault with significant bodily injury for a November 2022 attack on inmate Jordan Jones while detained. The District man who stabbed the mother of his child repeatedly with a pair pliers in broad daylight will have decades behind bars to think about his actions, federal authorities announced on Monday. Anthony Braxton, 47, has been sentenced to 22.5 years in prison for stabbing his former girlfriend nearly 30 times with a pair of needle nose pliers in front of the child they share, despite being ordered repeatedly to stay away from her by judges. An elusive suspect who attempted to make his great escape from police custody last month in Washington, DC, is back in custody and behind bars, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. New photos have been released by the Metropolitan Police Department on Tuesday night as they continue to search for Kenneth Phillips, who escaped custody and is at large.
