A driver who took his advantage of his underage victim during a ride earlier this year in Maryland has been apprehended and faces a rape charge, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police. Silver Spring resident Orlin Martinez Orellana, 24, was arrested over the weekend in the 11500 block of Georgia Avenue by detectives from the department’s Special Victims Investigations Division, who charged him with second-degree rape and sex abuse of a minor following a months-long investigation. Montgomery County Police detectives have released video surveillance of a vehicle they believe to be connected to a shooting in Olney late last month. Investigators say that a white Ford Fusion with minor front end damage was observed in the bus turn-around area of the parking lot of Brooke Grove Elementary School on Wednesday, March 29. Several suspects were pictured in and around the vehicle. One of the suspects then shot a gun several times before leaving on foot. The vehicle was later seen driving away from the scene. A murder investigation has been launched after a 22-year-old man’s dead body was found inside a Silver Spring home over the weekend, according to Montgomery County Police. Carlos Rashard Carter, of Silver Spring, has been identified by police as the victim who was located by investigators at approximately 3:22 a.m. on Sunday, April 9 in the 11800 block of Old Columbia Pike. Walter Woods succumbed to his injuries after being shot in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Lane the night of Tuesday, March 7, according to Montgomery County Police.
